What the pair shows
Both photographs are given over to colour on the ground. The difference is in the boundaries.
On the slope in Study A the yellow runs all the way to the tree line with no border inside it; the only edge is the ridge against the sky. Under the greenhouse roof in Study B each colour keeps to its own area: the red bed ends cleanly at the lawn, and the purple fills the far banks. One reads as a surface, the other as a plan.
